Not all pets are furry or four-legged! We are proud to provide care for exotic pets, including birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. Caring for exotic pets requires experience and special training, so our team is equipped to provide our exotic patients with high-quality care.
Caring for exotic animals can be very different from other pets, so pet owners need to be educated on the needs of their pets. Nutrition and a proper habitat are major components of caring for most exotic pets.
Small mammals such as rabbits, rodents, and ferrets are prone to many conditions requiring veterinary care. We provide ferret care, from vaccinations needed to alternative options to adrenal surgery. We have rabbit and rodent dental procedure tools, from simple filing to extractions. At Andover Animal Hospital, we can perform elective surgeries such as spays or neuters or medically necessary procedures such as abscesses or tumor removals. If you have questions regarding your exotic pet, we’d be happy to help.
We also offer boarding for birds and exotics. We ask that you bring your own food, cage, and bedding to keep them as comfortable as possible while they are away from home!
